ā Our Experience & Why We Chose It
For those who have asked how I made baby formula for our littlest one ā here it is. š
Since we adopted, breastfeeding wasnāt an option for us. I made homemade formula for a little over two years. Many parents have reached out to me asking for guidance. If youāre one of them, please know Iām here and happy to share what worked for our family.
Doctors agree ā breastfeeding is always the best option when possible. But sometimes, itās not possible.
Over the years, Iāve seen every scenario:
⨠Mamas who have nursed but chose not to.
⨠Mamas who wanted to but physically couldnāt.
⨠And little ones who simply couldnāt nurse for one reason or another.
When breastfeeding isnāt an option, there are still nourishing ways to feed your baby with love and intention.
š The Problem With Most Store-Bought Formulas
Today, formula is a multi-billion dollar industry. However, most options, even organic ones, contain ingredients that just donāt belong in a babyās body.
Many use corn syrup solids, soy oil, powdered skim milk, or denatured whey, which can disrupt digestion, hormones, and development.
Even the ācleanerā labels often hide questionable ingredients. For example:
- Organic Reduced Minerals Whey ā denatured and stripped of minerals.
- Non-Fat Milk Powder ā oxidized and lacking essential fats.
- Glucose Syrup Solids ā a fancy way to say corn syrup.
- Soy Oil ā highly inflammatory and hormone-disrupting.
I didnāt want to start my childās life with processed fillers. So I turned to something older and truer ā real-food formula.
š¼ Why I Chose Homemade Formula
At first, it sounds complicated to make your own formula. However, once you look into it, you find it’s actually very simple. It is also nourishing.
These recipes are based on traditional nutrition principles from the Weston A. Price Foundation and Dr. Mercola, using real, bioavailable nutrients that mimic the nourishing fats, proteins, and enzymes in breast milk.
No synthetics, no preservatives ā just clean, intentional ingredients.
